Well, we're back from the fantastic Makers Central show, and we're all buzzing, but just beginning to recover from the busy schedule! We had so many great conversations, and met so many amazing people. Lots of people tried on Adam's Iron Santa suit and took selfies, had a go on our "Smart Buzz Wire", tombola and raffle, or just dropped by for a chat! It was pretty full-on, and we raised £547.71 (subject to confirmation) with our fund-raising efforts.
Thanks once again to the companies and individuals who provided us with swag for the tombola and raffle - specifically, @3DPrintz for donating the goody bags and wonderful 10 pack of HD filament; @WhamBamSystems for donating stickers and Slap Mats; Shropshire Online Solutions for kitting out our stand with banners, table cloths, posters and leaflets; @Wickes Telford for tools and screws; @LetsOKdo for the Raspberry Pi kits; @STEMillie for the Wild Maker Woman pins; @Kitronik for the Micro:Bit Inventor's Kit, Night Light soldering kits and stickers. We'd also like to thank @3DPrintz and @ErinTheSmall and @metalheadprntg for donating 3D printed objects for the tombola. We couldn't have done it without you guys, and your generosity is much appreciated!
We raffled the 3DPrintz 10 pack of HD filament, and it was won by Daniel (@DWEngineer on Twitter). We'll put up a video in due course - watch this space.
We had visits from some lovely maker community creators too - a big shout out to @KatzCreates, @STEMillie_, @LizBish94 and @Integza__! It was lovely to meet you all in the flesh, and very inspiring! Your mentions and re-tweets are already causing an up-tick in our engagement... We hope you had as great a time at Makers Central as we did.
